Greetland Open Age Players Selected for Yorkshire

Greetland open age first team, who have enjoyed a hugely successful couple of seasons with back to back league titles, have had their progress recognised via the selection of Kyle Hancock and Oliver Bagley to the Yorkshire Amateur League representative squad.

Greetland manager, Sam Duffy, is understandably delighted with the recognition.

“Oliver and Kyle are examples of what an open age player at Greetland should be.  They have an outstanding attitude to training, a desire to continually improve and are excellent team players who set the standards for the rest of the group.  The progress they have made in the last 2 and a half years since I have been manager has been remarkable and they fully deserve the opportunity to represent the Yorkshire Amateur League representative side.  The open age management team and players are very proud of them both.”

Goalkeeper Kyle, commented.

“I’m really honoured to have been selected for the Yorkshire representative squad.  It’s a great achievement for me, the club and my fellow teammate who has also been selected.  I have been goalkeeper at Greetland for many years now and I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity to further show my goalkeeping abilities, alongside the best this league has to offer.”

Midfield player Oliver, who has been an outstanding loyal servant to Greetland for many years, was equally delighted.

“I’m really pleased to have been selected.  It’s a great achievement to have been recognised in the competitive league we are in and shows how far the tam and club have come to be able to have 2 players within this squad.  Hopefully, we can continue this as a club for years to come.”

Well done chaps.
