Elsie (aged 9) has been part of a highly successful Greetland girls team for the last 18 months and following a trial at Liverpool Football Club she has been offered a place in their academy programme.
Her footballing story began only 18 months ago when she decided that dancing wasn’t for her and she wanted to give football a go. Elsie attended the Wildcats sessions organised by Luke and Mark where she practised skills and played games with other girls of a similar age.
The next step was to play games against other girls teams in West Yorkshire and she thrived as part of a really talented team. As well as playing and training with Greetland Elsie also attends regular mixed group sessions at our partners www.markduffyfootballschool.co.uk where her confidence has continued to grow.
The chance to be part of Liverpool Football Club is even more special as its the team that Elsie and her whole family support. The only sad part of the story is that Elsie will be leaving her friends at Greetland who have formed strong friendships in the time they have been together but the opportunity is too good to miss.
Everyone at Greetland Football Club wishes Elsie all the best on her footballing journey and we can’t wait to get regular updates on her progress.
