Emmie Birch from our Under 12’s girls team

In the latest of our Player Profile features, we turn our attention to Emmie Birch from our Under 12’s Girls team.

We hope you enjoy it!

You are on the beach. What do you like to do?
Bury my brother, Max in the sand so he can’t get out!

What is the earliest memory you have?
Being sat on the sofa at 2 years old and my mum telling me she was pregnant, and I was getting a
baby brother, I said, “No, take it back I want a sister!” I was NOT happy!

What is the funniest thing your Dad has ever done to you?
He got me to do a push up because I said my wrist was hurting and he didn’t believe me. An hour or
so later we found out it was fractured, and I wasn’t just being a pain in the bum!

Name 3 famous people you would like to meet?
Mary Earps, Kalvin Phillips and Stephen Mulhern!

Would you rather be a giraffe or a mouse?
A giraffe because it must be really easy to save goals.

You have just won £1 million, what are the first 3 things you buy?
A holiday for me and my family, some football gloves and a season ticket for Leeds Utd.

What do you love most about football?
Playing with my friends and winning!!!!!!

How do you and your team celebrate a win?
We all huddle around, start jumping up and down whilst screaming our Greetland Girls chant at the
top of our voices!

Do you have any football memorabilia?
Yes, I have a personalised video message and a signed football from ex-pro footballer, Jill Scott.

What advice would you give to girls who are interested in getting involved in football?
Just do it! Training is so much fun, matches are even better (especially the wins!), and the best
bit…making new friends of course!
